Brother Matthew Jones came to Reliance Baptist Church as Pastor on February 16, 2025, just in time to celeberate the 150th anniversary of Reliance in October of that year.

Brother Matthew loves the Lord. He has served vocationally since 2022, following graduation from Southweatern Baptist Theological Seminary and his service just down the road at Emmanuel Baptist before coming to us. As a new Pastor, he has enjoyed the fellowship and community of Reliance Baptist Church, and we are excited to see what God has in store for us.

Chaplaincy in the Texas Army National Guard is Brother Jones' mission work of choice outside of Reliance, where he serves diligently, continuing his now 12 years of service following his family's legacy.

In addition to serving as Pastor, Brother Jones is husband to the beautiful and faithful Kara Jones, and together they have four children: Silas, Abram, Levi and Eden, all of whom the church has readily adopted.
